This committee is charged with increasing the profile of Coralwood School with the media in metro Atlanta, and especially with the donor community at the regional and national levels. We want to get the attention of non-profit and corporate donors that fund teacher training, acquisition of equipment and supplies, and special projects as well as those that support research in special education and inclusion education. We also want to strengthen ties with the academic centers, medical institutions, and think tanks in our fields of interest.
Some examples of initiatives we are working on:
We have already produced a “press kit “ to distribute to the media. We will begin distribution in coming months with an eye to getting reviewed in newspapers such as the AJC, the Business Chronicle, magazines such as Atlanta, and some TV and radio exposure.
A group of volunteer parents is working on production of a 5-minute video that provides an introduction to the school and its programs, and can be distributed in a DVD format.
In sum, we are looking for ways to promote partnerships, and obtain intellectual and material support from like-minded institutions. To do that, we must increase our profile locally and nationally.
