This committee is charged with recommending and implementing a specific set of policies to help teachers effectively pursue their own creative ideas on how to advance educational excellence in their classrooms. A major part of that challenge is how to turn those ideas into fundable proposals to submit to donors.
Some initiatives under consideration:
Identify the kinds of workshops teachers and parents need in grant searching, hypothesis generation, literature searching, and proposal writing.
Create support groups and mechanisms for grantwriters to exchange tips on grantwriting in general;
Create a formal mentoring program to link teachers with specialists of their interest outside their school.;
In sum, this group’s challenge is to specify a “road map” of incentives and initiatives on how to create a favorable, supportive environment for teachers to pursue their best ideas.
