Coralwood Foundation’s mission is detailed in its founding documents. This mandate is specific enough to give direction to board members, and general enough to give them flexibility on how to implement it. Following, is an extract from the organization’s bylaws describing its mission:
“Coralwood Foundation’s mission is to encourage excellence in Early Childhood Education at Coralwood School from within, and to foster the conditions that make it continuous for students of all ability levels.
To fulfill its mission, the Foundation encourages Coralwood teachers to think creatively about how to model excellence in education, and foster an environment of best practices to meet the needs of all students. It is our goal to provide the framework for an integrated education that promotes parental involvement and community partners.
Our Fund strives to maximize its impact by encouraging collaboration between Coralwood teachers, parents and community partners to implement innovative models.
Integral to the Fund’s mission is to encourage teachers to reflect and learn from their own initiatives, to provide professional development to other educators and to develop successful models that can be replicated elsewhere.”
